SAVVAS KARANTZIAS – THEOPHANES THE GREEK in march 2020 in new york

Following a path of cultural geography and music diplomacy, the international Greek composer Savvas Karantzias
travels with the oratorio “Theophanes the Greek” to four continents, stationing in important cultural sites after his
birth in Rhodes.
The first part of the concerts was accomplished with great success at the Ecumenical Patriarchate of
Constantinople, at the Collège Notre Dame de France in Paris (France), at the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow
(Russia) and at the Alexandrian (Egyptian) Emblematic Library of the Egyptian (Egyptian) Artists with a
significant financial contribution from sponsors supporting Greek Culture.

The trip continues to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York (the first fortnight of Lent).

The concert is under the auspices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America with the participation of the
Archdiocese Choir.

Part of the proceeds will go towards the construction of the church of St. Nicholas.

The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew strongly supports the oratorio “Theophanes the Greek”.
